Q

Addison Disease

A

Results from a deficiency in the secretion of adrenocortical hormones; also called adrenal insufficiency. The most common cause of this condition is the result of the body attacking itself (autoimmune disease). For unknown reasons, the immune system views the adrenal cortex as a foreign body, something to attack and destroy.
