What are serous membranes?
A
Simple squamous epithelium and areolar connective tissue and secretes transudate fluid.

What is the cutaneous membrane?
A
Skin, dry, made of keratinized stratified squamous epithelium. Has both areolar connective tissue and dense irregular connective tissue.

What is the synovial membrane?
A
Made of areolar connective tissue and either simple squamous or simple cuboidal epithelium. Lines some joints and secretes a fluid that lubricates joint.

What are mucous membranes?
A
Moist membranes that line hollow organs open to the environment. Has areolar connective tissue under epithelium, sometimes smooth muscle in connective tissue.
