How does a vessel become part of the EAS?

A

The MCA will risk assess a vessels management company via inspections carried out by:

  • PSC
  • Flag / Class (RO) - Responsible Organisation
  • Management Company and ISM performance
  • Other ship factors such as detentions or defects

If the MCA is happy with the management company they will look at the fleet and invite a handful of their well-managed yachts into the program.
