Cell-mediated immunity Flashcards

1

Q

how is an APC formed?

A

the antigens of the pathogen which was engulfed by the macrophage are processed to form antigen-presenting cells

Q

what do the T helper cells do once they have binded to the APC?

A

receptors on T helper cells fit the antigens on the APC which causes the T helper cell to activate and produce interleukins which causes more T cells to divide by mitosis and form clones of the activated T helper cell

Q

what do the cloned T cells do?

A

he cloned T cells:

  • develop into T memory cells
  • produce interleukins to stimulate phagocytosis
  • produce interleukins to stimulate division of B cells
  • stimulate development of clones of T killer cells
