1
Q
What is the mechanism of action of Digoxin? (3)
A
Direct inhibition of Na+/K+ ATPase leads to indirect
Inhibition of Na+/Ca2+ exchanger -> positive inotropy
Stimulates vagus nerve
2
Q
What are the indications for Digoxin? (2)
A
CHF (increase contractility) A Fib (decrease conduction at the AV node and depression of the SA node)
3
Q
What are the adverse effects of Digoxin? (4)
A
Cholinergic
ECG: increase PR, decrease QT
Worsened by renal failure
Quinidine displaces Digoxin from tissue binding sites
4
Q

A
Recombinant B-NP
Increase in cGMP and vasodilation
5
