Q

Why does cardiovascular drift occur

A

This is because as you exercise your stroke volume, and atrial pressure decreases due to you losing water in your blood through sweat.

This causes less plasma volume

Causes an increase in cardiac output

Causing a progressive rise in heart rate to cool body

Q

What is the arterial- venous difference at rest

A

There is not much difference as your muscles do not require that much oxygen

Q

What is the A -VO2 difference during exercise

A

It is high as your muscles need a lot of oxygen.
Training increases atrial venous difference as trained performers can extract more oxygen from their blood
