What is a cisternae?
A
Flattened membranous sacs.

Name the two sides of Golgi apparatus.
A
Cis face and trans face.

What happens at both of those sides?
A
Cis face receives materials from ER whereas trans face gives rise to vesicles that pinch off and travel to other sides.

State the function of Ga after receiving the products from ER.
A
Further modifies the glycoprotein received.

What does Ga manufactures?
A
Macromolecules. Many polysaccharides secreted by cell.

What else is the function of Ga?
A
Ga products will move via transport vesicle from the trans face. Then, the transport vesicle fuses with the plasma membrane and the contents are released out of the cell via exocytosis.
