what is the Building Safety Act 2022?

A

New regulation for any buildings to make them SAFER.
More stringent process for higher-risk buildings (HRBs)

Its about - transparency
and making people accountable for what they do.
Everyone has a responsibility to collect, store and share more data - to create a ‘golden thread’ of information.

Its is about re-setting safety standards following Grenfell fire in 2017.

A

what is the Gateway Principle?

A

There are 3 mandatory gateways processes -Planning/Construction/Completion

These are to ensure early consideration is given to fire safety and comprise (a) managing change control, (b) to preserve the integrity of the building, and (c) fire safety information.
