What is the Pure land school?
A
An offshoot of Mahayana that follows Amitabha Buddha (eternal light). Not celibate sangha. Faith is Control.

A
A branch of Mahayana that does not depend upon bodhisattvas and believes that nirvana can happen instantly. Pulls back the veil of ignorance.

What is zazen?
A
meditation without purpose.

Who is Shinran?
A
Stated that you cant achieve nirvana on your own you need the grace of the Buddha.

A
Only the Lotus Sutra matters. Nirvana depends on the Buddha’s grace.
