Brief Psychotic Disorder

A

Symptoms to be present for at least one day up to a month. One or more of the following symptoms: 1. Delusions 2. Hallucinations 3. Disorganized speech (e.g., frequent derailment or incoherence) 4. Grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior.

Schizophreniform

A

Symptoms to be present for at least 1 month - 6 months. 1. Delusion - Belief that is false. Something that can’t be true.
2. Hallucinations - visual or audible.
3. Disorganized speech - Rambling, incoherent.
4. Disorganized Behaviors - moving in gestures, compulsive behavior. Often a reaction to hallucinations.
5. Negative symptoms - Have to do with having a flat affect, don’t respond.

Schizophrenia

A

Symptoms to be present for at least 6 months. 1. Delusion 2. Hallucinations 3. Disorganized speech 4. Disorganized Behaviors 5. Negative symptoms - Have to do with having a flat affect, don’t respond.
