Anorexia Nervosa
Restricts their dietary intake to the point that it does not meet their physical needs. Less then minimally normal for their weight. Intense fear of gaining weight. distorted body image. often compensation with exercise, fear of getting fat. Coordinate with a medical doctor. Often go in-patient. Higher level of care
Bulimia Nervosa
Two conditions: 1. Binge eating and 2. Purging. They feel a sense of being out of control in the eating episode, and also recurring purging behavior. vomiting, laxatives, or medication. excessive exercise. Both diagnoses have a feeling of disgust after consuming food.
Binge Eating Disorder
Binge eating d/o is only the binging and not the purging. Both diagnoses have a feeling of disgust after consuming food.
