How are luminal A cancers treated?
Endocrine therapy only.

What is a side-effect of monoclonal antibody therapies used in breast cancer?
Heart damage - may lead to heart failure.

What neoadjuvant endocrine therapies can be given in pre-menopausal/peri-menopausal patients?
Tamoxifen or letrozole.
May be accompanied by geserelin.
What neoadjuvant endocrine therapy is advised in post-menopausal patients?
Letrozole
In those with a low-risk cancer, what is given?
Tamoxifen for 5 years.
In those with a high-risk cancer what is given?
Aromatase inhibitors ( may be taken for up to 10 years).
What role does bisphosphonate therapy have in recurrence of breast cancer?
Reduces the risk of recurrence within the bone.
How quickly is adjuvant radiotherapy given following surgery?
Within 12 weeks.
What benefit is there to adjuvant radiotherapy?
Reduces local recurrence.
Does endocrine therapy/chemotherapy have a benefit for those with in-situ disease?
No
How is triple negative breast cancer treated?
Chemotherapy only.
