What are the brain hemispheres and what do they do?
The left and right brain hemispheres are symetrical. The left controls the right. The right controls the left
What are the lobes of the brain?
Frontal, Parietal, Temporal and occipital
What is the frontal lobe in charge of?
Cognitive functions and voluntary movement
What is the Parietal lobe in charge of?
Processing information
What is the temporal lobe in charge of?
Memories
What is the occipital lobe in charge of?
vision
What is the cerebrum?
Divides the brain into left and right hemispheres
What is the cerebellum?
Performs everyday voluntary movement, helps stay balanced and coodinate muscles
What is the Thalamus?
Sensory perception and sleep/awake states
What is the Optic nerve?
Transfers visual info from retaina to vision centers
What is the Optic tract?
Part of the optic nerve and allows the left and right eye to cross and make a picture
What is the Pituitary?
Master gland that regulates glands and stores hormones to stimulate glands
What is the Midbrain?
Regulates body movement
