Rights to privacy, self-determination, personal liberty and natural justice

Protect and promote participants rights within their research activities
How should research be designed etc?
It should be designed, reviewed and conducted in a way that ensures its quality, integrity and contribution to the development of knowledge and understanding
What wastes resources?
Research that is judged within a research community to be poorly designed or conducted
What must be acknowledged by those conducting research?
The welfare of humans/non-humans both within the societies which psychology researchers live and work
What should all psychologists aim to consider?
Avoiding potential risks to psychological wellbeing/mental health/personal values/dignity
When is deceiving participants only necessary?
When it wouldn’t affect their willingness to participate
What is retrospective consent?
Not sharing all the aims and objectives until the end of the research
