Lymphoma in cattle
A
- Relatively common (18/100,000)
- Most forms caused by BLV
- Persistent lymphocytosis in 30% BLV infected cattle

Anatomic distribution lymphoma in cattle
A
- Multicentric - most common BLV association
- Cutaneous
- Thymic - adolescent, bone marrow involv
- Calf form - dramatic
- Alimentary - rare

Calf form lymphoma
A
- less than 6 months old
- generalized nodes, bone marrow, blood, liver, spleen
- 50% involve thymus, heart, kidneys, uterus
- bone involvement may lead to pathologic fractures

- abomasum
- R. atrium
- Uterus/vagina/ovary

Hairy vetch tox
A
Toxic component unknown, possibly hypersensitivity
Usually affects cattle > 3 yrs old

A
- Acute nervous form
- Herpetiform oral lesion
- Dermatitis, conjunctivitis, diarrhea with systemic granulomatous dz
- skin, heart, adrenal, kidney, lymphoid tissues

Citrus pulp toxicity
A
- fed in ration up to 20%, unpredictable
- granulomatous lesions
- LNs, liver, spleen, heart, pancreas, adrenal, intestines - unknown toxic principle
- lectin, hypersensitivity?
