A

Disease process that leads to coronary disease and strokes

Atheroma (fatty deposit) can either block an artery directly or increase chance of being blocked by a thrombosis (blood clot)

Smoking relation with Atheroclerosis

A

contains toxic chemicals, which can lead to atherosclerosis.

Thickens blood

Thick blood causes fatty deposits to build up on walls of arteries and increases risk of clotting.

Smoking also increases blood pressure and heart rate, which can also cause damage to endothelium.
