lymph

A
  • 10% of liquid that leaves blood vessels drains into a system of blind ended tubes called lymph
  • similar structure to plasma and tissue fluid but contains fatty acids which have been absorbed into lymph via villi of small intestine walls
  • one valves
  • contains lymph nodes (lymphocytes build up there and produce antibodies)
  • plays major role in defence mechanism of body
