It receives Qi for its function from the Kidneys, therefore bladder deficiency can often result from Kidney-Yang deficiency.

Affected by fear and also suspicion and jealousy.

What are the signs and symptoms of Damp heat in the Bladder?
Frequent urgent urination Difficult urination Burning on urination Dark yellow or turbid urination Blood in urine Hypogastric fullness and pain Feeling of heat Thirst with no desire to drink
What is the tongue and pulse in Damp-Heat in the Bladder?
T: Thick sticky yellow coating on the root, possible red papillae
P: Slippery, rapid and slightly wiry in the left rear position
What is the treatment principle of Damp Heat in the Bladder?
TP: Clear damp heat from the bladder, open the water passages.
What are the signs and symptoms of damp cold in the bladder?
Frequent urgent urination
Difficult urination
Feeling of heaviness in hypogastrium and urethra
Pale and turbid urine

T: White sticky coating on root
P: Slippery, slow and slightly wiry in the left rear position
What is the treatment principle of damp cold in the bladder?
TP: Clear damp and expel cold from the bladder, open the water passages

T: Pale and wet
P: Deep and weak
What is the treatment principle of bladder deficient and cold?
TP: Tonify and warm the bladder and kidney yang.
What does dampness do to the urinary passages?
Dampness obstructs the urinary passages and causes turbidity and heat concentrates urine.
