Nucleus, Function and animal/plant/both
Controls/manages all cell functions(in Eukaryotic cell)
Both
Mitochondria, Function and animal/plant/both
Produces a usable form of energy for the cel
Both
Lysosome, Function and animal/plant/both
Digests excess/worn out cell parts/food particles/invading viruses/bacteria
Both
Ribosomes, Function and animal/plant/both
Site of protein synthesis
Makes Proteins
Animal
Cytoplasm, Function and animal/plant/both
Jelly like substance that contains organelles.
Gives cell shape
Both
Cell Membrane/plasma membrane, Function and animal/plant/both
Membrane surrounding cell
Made up of Carbohydrates, phospholipid bilayer
Both
ER, Function and animal/plant/both
Transports materials within the cell
Smooth-makes membrane lipids
Rough- makes lipids
Animal
Golgi apparatus, Function and animal/plant/both
Packages micro molecules/ proteins for transport out of the cell
Small bags with tubes
Both
Nucleolus, Function and animal/plant/both
Makes Ribosomes
Animal
Vesicles, Function and animal/plant/both
Transports materials within the cell
Provides temporay storage of food, enzymes, and waste products
Both
Cytoskeleton, Function and animal/plant/both
Everything inside the cell including the nucleus
Gives the shell shape/structure
Both
What is the difference between plant and animal cell?
Plant cells have cell walls and a huge vacuole. Animal cells usually don’t have cell walls because animals have skin as their protective layer.
Chromatin
Name of the collection of DNA in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells
Both
Vacuole
Provides structural support/storage
Both
Chloroplast
Contains chlorophyll, a green pigment that traps energy from sunlight and gives plant its green color
Plant
