Q

3 central ideas of Cell Theory

A
  1. All living things are made of cells
  2. Cells are the basic unit of structure and function in living things
  3. All cells come from pre existing cells

Q

5 main differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells

A

Prokaryotic cells are much older
Eukaryotic cells have a nucleus and membrane-bound organelles
Eukaryotic cells can perform more complex functions because they have a nucleus and organelles
DNA is bound in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells, DNA flats freely in prokaryotic cells
Eukaryotic cells are about 10x larger than prokaryotic cells
