A

-benign tumour of oncocytes (epithelial cells with excessive amounts of mitochondria)

A
  • 85% of time it is incidental
  • loin pain
  • haematuria

A

spoke wheel pattern (very similar to clear cell RCC)

how does oncocytoma present on biopsy?

A

small ,oval and well circumscribed

  • mahogany brown with a central stellate scar
  • very pink and granular cytoplasm
  • Aggregates of eosinophilic cells, mitosis is rare and cells packed with mitochondria
