The usual sleeping position for a bed
flat position
The client is placed in the semi-upright sitting position (45–60 degrees) and may have knees either bent or straight.
Fowler’s position
A semi-sitting position in bed. The head of the bed is elevated by 15 to 30 degrees, or the client is propped up with a backrest or pillow
Low Fowler’s position
The head of the bed is raised by 30 to 45 degrees.
Semi-Fowler’s position
A semi-sitting position in bed. The head of the bed is elevated by 45 to 90 degrees.
High-Fowler’s position
The head of the bed is lowered, and the foot of the bed is raised
