What does sustainability mean?
A
Meeting the needs of today’s population without harming the environment so that future generations can still meet their own needs.

Give examples in ways which humans rely on ecosystems.
A
- provide clean air,water and food (fish and games)
- provide fertile soil that’s full of mineral nutrients- needed to produce crops
- most crop production needs pollination which is done by ecosystems .

Give a couple of ways which using natural resources is made so that it allows the the resources to be replaced naturally.
A
- fishing quotas- prevents fish getting extinct
- timber quotas
- timber companies having to plant a new tree to replace those they have cut.

Explain how sunlight is a sustainable source of energy.

2) used to make plants photosynthesise
