What is the reasoning behind using a second pair of eyes?
Sometimes, when reading your own writing, you “think” a word as you are reading (because you know what it is you are trying to say) and the word is in fact missing or misspelled. When someone else proof reads your work, they catch the missing words and errors because they are not anticipating your thoughts. They are reading the words on the page and errors are more obvious to them.
