What is the function of a Nerve cell
To carry electrical impulses around the body

. Lots of dendrites to make connections to other cells

Contract and relax to allow movement

Contain special fibers that can slide over one another to allow the fibers to contract
Contain lots of mitochondria to provide a lot of energy for contraction
Stores glycogen which can be converted into glucose for respiration

To fertilize the egg
What are some adaptations of sperm cells
A tail for movement
Middle section full of mitochondria to provide tail energy to move
Digestive enzymes in acrosome to break through egg
A large nucleus containing half the genetic information needed to make a human
Why does the nerve cell have lots of dendrites
The nerve cell contains dendrites because it needs to make connections with other cells
What is a specialized cell
One that is adapted to carry out a specific function
What is the function of the cell membrane
The cell membrane gives the cell structure and controls what enters and exits the cell

A store of glycogen stores to allow it to be converted into glucose for respiration
What does differentiate mean
Differentiation means that it is made into a specialized cell that links to its function
What is the function of the nucleus
It contains genetic information in the form of DNA
