What is the first stage of cell division
Cell growth (organelles inside the cell are copied) Copying of chromosomes

One set of chromosomes is pulled to each end of the cell

Cytoplasm and cell membrane divide to form two identical cells

Why is the first stage of mitosis important
So that all of the genetic information is copied into the new cells that are made
What does identical mean
That the genetic information is the same as the original cell that is being replaced / repaired or grown
Why is it important that these cells are identical
So that they carry out the specific function that they are specialized for
