What do occupational health services aim to do?
occupational health services aim to keep a workforce fit and healthy so that they are able to carry out duties for which they are employed, or to assist employees in regaining fitness following injury or illness
Who are services in the work place usually provided by?
these services are usually provided by the employer to support the people they employ
What can services in the workplace include?
this can include access to nurses based in the workplace or referral to a doctor or other health professional
Who may employees be referred to?
referrals may be to a councillor if the employee is the thought to be suffering from work-related stress, or to a physiotherapist if there was a problem with the employee’s posture
What will vary according to an individual employee’s needs?
advice, information and treatment will vary according to an individual employee’s needs
