Avionics Failures Flashcards
During all electronic display failures, what should you do?
Confirm indications in both cockpits, reference alternate data sources, reference the standby instruments, and check applicable circuit breakers
If you experience a loss of electronic display without a GEN BUS or BAT BUS annunciator, what should you do?
- Push the Composite switch on unaffected display
2. Check the FWD/AFT AVI circuit breaker, reset if open
What are the indications of an AHRS failure?
ATTITUDE FAIL and an X over the rate-of-turn scale on the EADI
HDG on the EHSI
How long must there be power disprution to the AHRS circuit breaker before resetting it after it is pulled?
0.5 seconds
When accomplishing an inflight AHRS alignment, how long must the aircraft be in straight and level flight for?
30 seconds
If ATTITUDE FAIL and HDG remain on the EADI and EHSI screen, do the VOR and GPS needles provide accurate bearing information?
Yes, however they are slaved to the frozen EHSI compass card
Will the DME block and CDI scale at the bottom of the EHSI function normally if the AHRS has failed?
Yes
During an electrical failure that results in a loss of power to the front EADI or rear EHSI, what happens to the corresponding EFIS control panel?
They are also inoperative
Should you reset an EADI or EHSI circuit breaker if you have the pull them due to an electrical failure?
No
If the EADI circuit breaker is popped, what happens to the GPS map if it is set to HDG up?
There will be no map, you must select Track Up for the GPS to display a map
If the ADC has failed, what should you expect to see after landing?
PMU STATUS and a FDR light
What will be inoperative aside from the primary ADS displays when the ADC has failed?
TAD, Mode C, aural gear warning
How can you tell if the ADC has failed?
If a boxed ADC FAIL remains displayed
What does illumination of both the amber VSI and amber TCAS on the TA/VSI mean?
Total loss of the ADC
Should the PMU remain online with a total EDM failure?
Yes
