What are the 6 conditions that you must abort a start?
- ITT appears likely to exceed 1000c
- ITT is likely to remain between 871-1000c for >5seconds
- Normal N1 increase is halted
- No ITT rise within 10 seconds after fuel flow indicators
- BAT BUS illuminated during the start sequence
- PCL is moved or the ST READY light extinguishes
What should you do if you experience an over temp during an engine start? (After aborting the start?)
Note and report the degree and duration of overtemp to maintenance
Should you attempt a restart if you must abort a start with external power connected?
No
What does repeated PMU abort starts tell you?
That there is most likely an engine malfunction
What does motoring the engine do for the engine after an abort start?
Clears out residual fuel and/or lowers the ITT
Is the starter switch spring loaded from MANUAL to NORM?
No
What are the 5 conditions to perform an emergency engine shutdown on the ground?
- Engine Fire
- Prop Strike
- Chip Light
- Departing a prepared surface
- Pilots Discretion
Before activating the CFS system, what must you ensure to prevent injury?
Ensure your oxygen mask is on and visor is down
Which way must you rotate the CFS hand and how many degrees?
You must rotate it counterclockwise 90 degrees
