- Absorption: orally

- Excretion: renal
Pharmacodynamics of Phenylephrine
Like Noradrenaline but weaker & longer duration

- Prolong action of local anesthetics
- Nasal decongestant (irritant)
- Mydratic drops for eye

side effect of Nasal decongestant
- Rebound congestion
- Atrophic rhinitis (atrophy of cilia & loss of smell)
- Drowsiness in infants
- Lipid pneumonia (if in oily solution)
- Contraindicated with Hypertensive & Anginal Patients

- may cause irritation which further increase inflammation & congestion
