Autacoids 4: RAAS & Endothelin Flashcards
substrate for renin
Angiotensinogen
Renin receptor blockers
- Enalkiren
- Remikiren
-Kiren
Another name for ACE enzyme
Kininase II
site of Kininase II (ACE)
Lungs
effect of ACE on Vasoconstrictors
Increase:
* converts Angiotensin I to Angiotensin II (very active vasoconstrictor)
effect of ACE on Vasodilators
Decreases:
* Metabolises Bradykinin & substance P
Enumerate ACE inhibitors
- Captopril
- Lisinopril
- Enalapril
-Pril
Action of Angiotensin II
- Powerful VC (40 times more than noradrenaline)
- Increases release of noradrenaline
- increases synthesis & Secretion of Aldosterone (Mineralocorticoid)
- Decrease renin secretion (negative feedback)
- mitogenic effect (hypertrophy & remodeling of CVS)
- Increase ADH & ACTH
- spasmogenic on smooth muscles
- assoiciated with atherosclerosis
RAAS inhibitors
Decrease Renin secretion:
* Beta blockers
* Alpha2 agonists
Renin receptors blockers:
* Enalkiren
* Remikiren
ACE inhibitors:
* Captopril
* Lisinopril
* Enalapril
Angiotensin-1 receptor blocker:
* Losartan
* Valsartan
* Candesartan
* Telmisartan
Enzyme producing Kinins
kallikrein
Kinins Act on what type of receptors
B1 & B2 (not Beta1 & Beta2)
Kinins are metabolised by ____
Kininase (ACE)
Actions of Kinins
- Powerful VD
- Decrease BP+ redness + hotness (through increasing PG)
- Venous VC
- Increase capillary permiability -> forming edema
- Pain
- Inflammation & Anaphylaxis
- Bronchospasm
- GIT spasm (colic)
medication used for treatement of heridatery Angioedema/ Antagonist of Bradykinin
