-shown in adoption studies- found lower IQ in institutional children as opposed to those in foster care, who had a higher standard of emotional care

-affectionless psychopathy- inability to experience guilt and strong emotions towards others
-prevents development of meaningful relationships
-AP is associated with criminality- they cant appreciate victim’s feelings so lack remorse for their actions
