- Created a lot of history and culture for the Britain

A
- Forces people to follow rules all their lives
- Forces people to rely on outside authority, therefore people are not responsible for their own actions
- Prevents people from thinking rationally
- Causes war and conflict which brings much death and suffering
- Religion gets people to believe something that is untrue and base their entire lives on a lie
- Obstructs scientific research
- Wastes time and money
- Doesn’t give equal treatment to women or homosexuals and offends human rights

What do you think the difference is between the morality of an atheist and the morality of a Christian?
A
- Often atheists are just as moral as religious people
- Christians may have a moral lifestyle because of the teachings of the Bible, whereas an atheist might feel they can come to their own decisions of morality without God

- Not believing in any Gods or spiritual things
- Don’t use God to explain the existence of the universe
- They say that human beings can devise suitable moral codes to live by without the aid of Gods or religious texts
- Believe more in evolution theory by Charles Darwin

- Religions are uninteresting to them
- The world is such a bad place that there can’t be a God
- They think that religion is nonsensical
- Lost their faith
- They don’t find enough evidence to support any religion
- Religions seem to have done a lot of harm in the world
- Brought up/living in a non-religious culture/lifestyle
- Religion does not seem relevant to their lives
