Consists of the head, neck, and trunk
Trunk is further divided into the thoracic regions
Divides into 4 quadrants or 9 regions

Vertebral Canal
Associated with the spinal cord and is enclosed by the vertebral column or backbone
Continuous with the Cranial Cavity
Lined by 3 membranes called the MENINGES
Thoracic Cavity
Occupied by the heart and connecting major vessels, esophagus, trachea, bronchi, and thymus
Right and left sides contain lungs
Lungs lined with membranes called the PLEURA
Abdominopelvic
Inferior to the diaphragm
Consists of abdominal and pelvic Cavity
Two-layered membranes called the peritoneum
