What are the 5 vital signs?
- Temperature
- Blood Rate
- Respiration Rate
- Blood Pressure
- Pain
Identify what vital sign is being described:
- hotness and coldness of body
- balance of heat production and heat loss in body
Temperature
2 kinds of body heat
- Core temperature
- Surface Temperature
What is the normal pulse range of adults
60 to 100 bpm
Pulse Range abnormalities:
- beat is more than 100 bpm
Tachycardia
Pulse range abnormality:
- less than 60 bpm
Bradycardia
Two phases of respiration
- Inhalation
- Exhalation
Term for normal respiration of an adult ( 12- 20cpm)
Eupnea
Term for cpm above 20
Tachypnea
Term for cpm less than 12
Bradypnea
It is the measure of pressure or force exerted by the blood on the wall of the arteries in the heart
Blood Pressure
