What is an articulation error?
the motoric inability to say certain speech sounds correctly beyond the age when the sound is typically learned

What are 5 types of articulation errors?
As listed in the slides
Nasalization, pharyngeal fricatives, frontal lisp, lateral lisp, omission of a sound
Describe nasalization
oral sounds are produced
with inappropriate, excessive nasal
resonance
Describe pharyngeal fricatives
fricatives are produced in the pharyngeal area
Describe frontal lisp
sounds such as /s/ and /z/ are produced with the tongue tip placed too far forward
Describe lateral lisp
sounds such as /s/ and /z/ are produced with air flowing inappropriately over the sides of the tongue
Describe omission of a sound
unable to produce target sound
