Refers to the used of investigative methods that are systematic, replicable and objective, and the formulation, testing and modification of hypotheses based on these methods.

Describe the emergence of psychology as a science

A

Before Wundt, the study of the mind + behaviour was limited to philosophy + medicine
^— he was the first to use controlled empirical scientific research techniques to study teh mind
- Wundt’s use of scientific methods helped establish psychology as an independent field of scientific research
