What does APGAR stand for?

Scoring of activity?
0-2
0=flaccid/loose floppy muscles
2= flex arms and legs that resist flexion
What does a score of 1 for activity indicate?
some flexion/muscle tone
Scoring for pulse rate?
0=absent
2= >100bpm
Score of 1 for pulse rate?
<100bpm
Score of 2 for grimace?
Cry/pull away when stimulated
Scoring for grimace?
0-2
0=No response
1= Grimace/feeble cry when stimulated
2= Cry/pull away when stimulated
Appearance score of 0?
Pale/blue
Appearance score of 2?
Completely pink
Appearance score of 1?
Blue extremities
Pink body
Scoring of appearance?
0-2
0=white
2= Pink
Scoring for respiration rate?
0-2
0= Absent
2= Strong, lusty
Score of 1 for respiratory rate?
1= Weak, irregular and gasping
