AOP-7 Rapid Downpower Flashcards
What is the purpose of AOP-7?
Used when a rapid power reduction is dictated by abnormal plant conditions. A rapid (emergency) power reduction is performed at greater than the maximum normal rate of 30%/hour.
Power reduction less than or equal to 30% power is performed in accordance with GOP-8, “Power Reduction and Plant Shutdown to Mode 2 or Mode 3 >=525F.”
What are the AOP-7 entry conditions?
- When directed by another abnormal operating procedure.
- CRS determines that abnormal plant conditions requires immediate power reduction at a rate greater than 30%/hour and less than or equal to 300%/hour.
What are the auto and immediate actions of AOP-7?
None
What are the reactor trip criteria of AOP-7?
Either Steam Generator level less than 30%
Either Steam Generator level greater than 95%
Pressurizer level less than 30%
Pressurizer level greater than 62.8%
TAVE less than 525F
