Reduce hyperactivity of vomiting reflex
Local effect – decrease response communicating with
medulla
Mild nausea – antacids, Reglan, etc.
Central effect – to block chemoreceptor trigger zone
(CTZ)
Phenothiazines, anticholinergics, antihistamines, serotonin
receptor blockers (5-HT3)
