Q

Effect of ADH on organs

A
  1. Kidneys - respond by retaining more water which decreases urine output
  2. Sweat glands inhibited - lowers loss of water by perspiration
  3. Smooth muscles of arterioles - contract in response, constrict lumen and increase bp

Inhibition of ADH release

A
  1. High blood volume
  2. Osmoreceptors detect this
  3. Inhibition of osmoreceptors reduces ADH secretion
