  • PO: take with food or milk, antacids
  • PO: peak 1–2 hours, duration 24–36 hours
  • Eat food high in protein, calcium, vitamin D, and potassium
  • Contact provider if anorexia, difficulty breathing, weakness, dizziness; symptoms may appear during periods of stress or trauma
  • Contact provider if black/tarry stools, slow wound healing, blurred vision, bruising/bleeding, weight gain, emotional changes
  • Excessive consumption of licorice can increase risk of hypokalemia

  • IM: give deep into gluteal muscle, avoid deltoid, rotate sites, avoid subQ (may damage tissue)
  • IM: peak 1 hour, duration 4 weeks
  • Eat food high in protein, calcium, vitamin D, and potassium
