Inflight: indication of ice on the airframe seen on the Structural Ice Indicator between the windshields OR

It is plumbed independently from the high pressure compressor

A

Extended flights into icing should be avoided due to reduced wing anti ice capability with the slats extended

  2. WING A.ICE - (green) on the E/WD memo section
  3. ANTI ICE - (white) on each side of the BLEED page along with green arrows on each side when the respective anti ice valve has opened

What’s the meaning of the FAULT (Amber) light on the WING and ENG 1/2 ANTI ICE pbs?

  1. Appears momentarily during valve transition
  2. Represents disagreement between selected position and actual valve position
  3. For the WING pb - indicates low bleed air pressure is detected

What’s the operation of the Probe and Window heating system?

  1. On the ground - with at least one eng running, ALL flight deck windows/windshields, pitot tubes, static ports and AOA vanes are auto heated electrically at low level
  2. The TAT probes are not heated on the ground
  3. In the air - heat levels are increased and the TAT probes are heated

What is the operation of the Probe and Window heating system with the PROBE/WINDOW HEAT pb selected ON (blue)?

  1. On ground - with no engines operating, ALL flight deck windows/windshields, pitot tubes, static ports and AOA vanes are heated
  2. The TAT probes are NOT heated on the ground
  3. After first engine start - system reverts to programmed auto logic but the ON light remains illuminated unless manually selected back to AUTO (light out)
