What bloods do you get done at your booking visit?
glucose full blood count, Hb ABO Rhesus hep B, HIV, syphilis rubella
When is the booking visit?
Book by 12 weeks
See within 2 weeks if already >12 weeks
What investigations are done at booking?
BMI
BP
urinalysis
What supplements do you tell them to take at booking?
vit D
folic acid - up to 4 weeks and before for 12 weeks
iron
low dose aspirin from 12 weeks if risk of preeclampsia
Screening for Downs?
first trimester: USS at 11-13+6 weeks (nuchal thickness)
also do PAPP-a and HCG
woman’s age
specific diagnostic testing:
amniocentesis 15 weeks
chorionic villous sampling 10+ weeks
risk of miscarriage
What scan is at 10-13 weeks?
multiple pregnancy
When is the anomaly scan?
18-20 weeks
What do you get if you are primip?
extra apps and scans at 25 and 31
When do you get anti D if you are rhesus neg?
28 and 34 weeks
