Anatomy (Superficial Back & Shoulder) Flashcards
1
Q
Fibers present in Long Thoracic Nerve
A
- Motor nerve but contains:
1. Somatomotor fibers
2. Postganglionic sympathetic fibers
3. Sensory fibers
2
Q
Rotator Cuff Muscle Positions
A
On greater tubercle:
- Supraspinatus
- Infraspinatus
- Tres minor
On lesser tubercle:
- Subscapularis
“SITS”
3
Q
Abduction of Arm in Degree’s/Order (Muscles involved)
A
15o - supraspinatus (1st)
90o - deltoid (2nd)
>90o - trapezius & serratus anterior (3rd)
- All pretty much happen at the same time
4
Q
Deep vs Superficial Veins (4 each)
A
Deep:
- typically come in pairs but can be more than 2
- accompany arteries and take their name
- necessary for limb survival
- smaller
Superficial:
- not paired
- do not accompany an artery
- larger
- not necessary for limb survival
5
Q
Common sites for veinpuncture? (2)
A
- Median cubital vein (anterior elbow)
- Dorsal venous network (top of hand)
6
Q
Superficial vs Deep lymphatic vessels & nodes (3 each)
A
Superficial:
- Superficial to deep fascia
- Follow superficial veins
- Drain into deep lymphatic vessels
Deep:
- Deep to deep fascia
- Follow follow arteries & deep veins
- Drain into Right Lymphatic Duct or Thoracic Duct
