A
Langers Lines
2
Q
LSCS =
A
Lower segment Caesarian Section
3
Q
what is not cut!?
A
rectus muscles (the rectus sheath is cut and muscles spread laterally)
4
Q
incision that follows the linea alba
A
laparotomy (quite bloodless so increase likelihood of complications)
5
Q
during laparoscopy be careful of what?
A
inferior epigastric artery (especially if lateral port is required)
6
Q
During hysterectomy, extreme care must be taken to differentiate the ureter from the uterine artery. Remember:
A
- the ureter passes inferior to the artery (“water under the bridge”)
- the ureter will often “vermiculate” when touched
