Anatomy: Mistakes, Test I Flashcards
What divides the smooth and rough surfaces of right atrium? What is the corresponding outside structure?
Cristal Terminalis.
Sulcus Terminalis.
What is the ligamentum arteriosum and what is it’s embryological origin?
It is a ligament from the top of the pulmonary artery to the descending aorta. It used to be the “Ductus Arteriosis”.
What are the classifications of joints?
- Fibrous- sutures of skull
- Cartilaginous- Primary: epiphyseal plate of long bones, Secondary: Sternal Angle
- Synovial Joints- Uniaxial: Elbow, Biaxial: Wrist, Multiaxial: Shoulder
What is the smooth part of the base of the aorta.
Aortic Vestibule.
What are the roots of the phrenic nerve?
Ventral Rami of C3-C5.
What is the Right Superior Intercostal Vein? What does it drain into?
The 2nd, 3rd and 4th posterior intercostal veins converge to make the Posterior Intercostal Vein. They drain into the azygous vein.
At what level do things pass through the Diaphragm?
T8: Caval Opening, IVC and branches of right phrenic nerve.
T10: Esophageal Hiatus, esophagus and L and R vagus nerves
T12: Aortic Opening, Aorta and Thoracic Duct (for lymph)
Name things on the first rib.
- Scalene Tubercle
2. Subclavian Vein/Artery Groove
At what vertebral level does the trachea end?
T4/5
What artery runs on the posterior side of the sternum? What are its terminal branches?
Internal Thoracic Vein and Artery.
Terminates: 1) Musculophrenic Artery, 2) Superior Epigastric Artery
What innervates the Diaphragm?
Phrenic nerve and lower six intercostal nerves.
Where is the Greater Splanchnic Nerve? From which ganglia is it derived?
The Greater Splanchnic is a thin nerve that runs close to the spine. It is derived from the T5-T9 thoracic ganglia.
Where does the thoracic duct start and where does it train?
Start: L2
Drain: Junction of Left Subclavian and Left Internal Jugular Vein
Where does the Teres Major attach and what innervates it?
Inferior lateral edge of scapula. It is innervated by the lower subscapular nerve.
What goes through the Quadrangular Space?
Poster Circumflex Vein and Artery.
Axillary Nerve.
