Anatomy: Back Flashcards
What are the parts of the intervetebral disk?
Out: Nucleus Pulposus
In: Annulus Fibrosus
What are the parts of the cervicle vertebrae?
- Spinous Process (giraffe’s nose)
- Lamina (cheek)
- Superior articular facet (giraffe’s meatball)
- Pedicle (connects the skull)
- Vertebral Body (skull of giraffe)
- Transverse Foramen (ear hole [vertebral and arteries pass thru this])
- Vertebral Foramen (for spinal cord)
Trapezius
O: medial 3rd of nuchal line
INS: lateral 3rd of clavicle, medial aspect of acromion and superior margin of crest of the spine of the scapula.
INV: spinal accessory nerve
Latissumus Dorsi
O: thoracic spine, iliac crest, thoracolumbar fascia
INS: floor of bicipital groove
INV: thoracodorsal nerve
What is the innervation of the rhomboideus minor/major and levator scapulae:
Rhomboideus: Dorsal Scapular Nerve (C5)
Levator: Dorsal Scapular Nerve (C5)
What muscles make up the Erector Spinae? Innvervation?
- Spinalis
- Longissimus
- Iliocostalis
INV: dorsal rami of spinal nerves
What are the three connective tissue coverings around brain and spinal fluid?
- Dura Mater: thickest and most external.
- Arachnoid Mater: thin delicate membrane.
- Pia Mater: vascular membrane that adheres to the brain and spinal cord.
What are the ventral rami?
They are the nerve roots that come right off the spinal cord.
