all of the fucking muscles Flashcards
Shark facial muscles from rostral
Levator palatoquadrati, spiracularis, adductor mandibulae, Levator hyomandibulae, intermandibularis, dorsal and ventral constrictors, cucullaris
Shark deep muscles (medial to lateral)
coracomandibularis, common coracoarcuals (rounded part on bottom), coracohyoid (on top of arcuals), interhyoideus
Eye muscles origin/insertion
orbit/eyeball
mink chin deep muscles
geniohyoid, genioglossus, styloglossus, hyoglossus (same area under mylohyoid), thyrohyoid (small, bunched below mylo- and above sterno-), sternohyoid (covers trachea, very large), sternomastoid (below mandibular gland)
mink chin superficial muscles
mylohyoid, digastric, masseter (side view)
mink chest ventral muscles
sternomastoid, cleidomastoid (outside of sternohyoid/over sternomastoid deep muscle), clavodeltoid, pectoralis major, pectoralis minor
mink side of neck superficial muscles
masseter, temporalis (neck), clavotrapezius, levator scapulae ventralis (lower ish), acromiotrapezius, spinodeltoid (near bottom of acro), spinotrapezius, triceps (lateraland then long), dorsoepitrochlearis above, latissimus dorsi behind arm
mink side of neck deep muscles
rhomboideus capitus, splenius (below), (under splenius: semispinalis capitus, longissimus capitis. small triangle 1 muscle away = scalenus). rest of rhomboideus, lev. scapulae ventralis (attaches to acromiodeltoid), acromiodeltoid, atlantoscapularis, (under: supraspinatus, above shoulder, infraspinatus, teres major).
mink arm muscles
long and lateral tricep heads. under: brachialis, medial head. elbow: anconeus. btwn arm and body: subscapularis.
(side of) back muscles
serratus dorsalis, serratus ventralis (ridged part), external abdominal oblique, transversospinalis = under dorsalis, iliocostalis = under ventralis
stomach muscles and purpose
rectus abdominus (medial), layers: external then internal abdominal oblique, transversus abdominus is layer under. all stabilize and flex trunk.
hindlimb muscles
gluteus maximus, sartorius (outside), gracilis (inner leg), biceps femoris, inner calf: gastrocnemius. (underneath..), tensor fascia lata, gluteus medius, semitendinosus, vastus lateralis, tenuissimus (from origin of b femoris). (under that stuff..) gluteus minimus, rectus femoris, vastus intermedius, adductors magnus and brevus, presemimembranosus, semimembranosus
ampullae of lorenzini
pores on face, specialized sensors for electrical signals.
lateral line function
sensory canal system, helps with orientation in space
extensors vs flexors
extensors are dorsal, flexors are ventral.
