Q

What was the change in meat prices and why?

A

Meat prices fell because there were more animals and more meat available.
The invention of steam ships and fridge to preserve animals meant that lamb from New Zealand and Beef from Argentina could come to England fresh and at a higher quality, so would allow for cheaper prices abroad and less home demand
